Die Wahl des national-konservativen Ministerpräsidenten Viktor
Orbán, die EU-Ratspräsidentschaft Ungarns im Januar 2011 sowie Pécs,
Kulturhauptstadt Europas 2010, das sind einige der wichtigen Themen,
die Ungarn zu einem der derzeit spannendsten Länder Mitteleuropas
machen – politisch wie kulturell. Während der sechsten
internationalen n-ost Medienkonferenz erhalten Journalisten und
Osteuropaexperten vom 6. bis 10. Oktober 2010 zahlreiche
Recherchezugänge sowie Möglichkeiten zu Austausch und Vernetzung mit
Politikern, Experten und Betroffenen vor Ort.<br>
<br>
<b>Vernetzung, Qualifikation und neue Recherchezugänge...</b><br>
Unter dem Titel „Grenzöffner oder Ausgrenzer?“ richtet das
internationale Vernetzungstreffen im südungarischen Pécs den Blick
auf ein Land, das – nach dem Erdrutschsieg der rechtskonservativen
Partei Fidesz – einen tiefgreifenden Umbruch erlebt. Wenige Tage
nach den ungarischen Kommunalwahlen und kurz vor Beginn der
ungarischen EU-Ratspräsidentschaft wird Ungarn zum Zeitpunkt der
Konferenz im besonderen medialen und öffentlichen Blickpunkt stehen.<br>
<br>
<b>...für Journalisten und Osteuropaexperten</b><br>
In hochkarätig besetzten Podiumsdiskussionen reflektieren Politiker,
Wissenschaftler und führende Intellektuelle die innen- und
außenpolitischen Herausforderungen Ungarns sowie die Rolle von
Medien und Zivilgesellschaft. Prominenter Podiumsgast ist unter
anderen der Schriftsteller und Publizist Péter Nádas.
Verantwortliche der Kulturhauptstädte Pécs und Ruhr 2010 debattieren
über die Nachhaltigkeit der einzelnen Projekte und ziehen eine erste
Bilanz.<br>

Darüber hinaus bietet die n-ost Medienkonferenz zahlreiche
Möglichkeiten zur Recherche und Fortbildung. Auf Exkursionen
recherchieren die Teilnehmer zu Themen wie Rassismus und Rockmusik.
Sie nehmen die umstrittenen Bauprojekte des Kulturhauptstadtjahres
2010 in den Blick und beschäftigen sich mit Energiepolitik und
Weinanbau. Erfahrene und anerkannte Trainer bilden die
Konferenzteilnehmer in Workshops zu Blogging, Reportage,
Videojournalismus und weiteren journalistischen Fachgebieten fort.<br>

Der Teilnehmerbeitrag umfasst die Kosten für alle Übernachtungen,
Verpflegung sowie sämtliche Programmteile und beträgt 280 Euro (für
n-ost Mitglieder 180 Euro). Die Kosten für die Anreise tragen die
Teilnehmer selbst. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist begrenzt. Die Auswahl der
Teilnehmer erfolgt nach dem Eingangsdatum der Anmeldung und der
Qualität eines kurzen Motivationsschreibens (s. Teilnahmeformular).<br>

n-ost, das Netzwerk für Osteuropa-Berichterstattung führt
Medieninitiativen, Journalistinnen und Journalisten aus über 20
Ländern zusammen. Was sie verbindet, ist ein europäischer Blick und
das Interesse, die Berichterstattung insbesondere aus und über
Osteuropa zu verbessern und zu stärken. Dabei setzen sich
n-ost-Mitglieder für die Medienfreiheit und gegen wirtschaftliche,
gesellschaftliche oder politische Begrenzungen journalistischer
Arbeit ein. Das Netzwerk organisiert Fortbildungen, Fachkonferenzen,
Recherchereisen und internationale Medienprojekte. Mit einem
Artikel- und Radiodienst beliefert n-ost u.a. Hörfunkanstalten und
Zeitungen, Stiftungen, Unternehmen, Bibliotheken und Einzelpersonen
in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.<br>
