[fome] DW Freedom Webinar invitation on the state of media development in the MENA region on September 23

[Dr. Dennis Reineck]

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to our next DW Freedom Webinar on the state of media development in the Middle East and North Africa: The Fight Against Information Warfare. Lessons from the MENA Region.

Webinar Details:
Date: September 23
Time: 02:00 PM – 03:00 PM (CEST)
Registration: Click here<https://eu01web.zoom.us/meeting/register/QXZn5XxDSBKY5hDyFGaekA>

Language: English and Arabic

About the Webinar:
The MENA region has become an extreme battlefield for "information warfare." Local independent media, which are currently facing a severe donor funding crisis, struggle to survive and compete against heavily funded, state-sponsored "digital native" platforms that use modern visual codes to push partisan agendas and coordinated disinformation. Join us for the launch of the State of Media Development Regional Report to find out the report's key insights and recommendations for the MENA region, with a focus on what donors and media development organizations can do to improve the situation.

Guests:
MJ Daoud, Editor-in-chief of The What If, Lebanon

Raghdan Orsud, Co-founder and Senior Programme Leader at Beam Reports, Sudan

Layal Bahnam, Programme Manager Maharat Foundation

Host: Dennis Reineck, Senior Consultant, DW Akademie
