DW Akademie and Fondation Hirondelle warmly invite you to the 2025 fome Symposium and the 2025 CDAC Network Public Forum. The integrated events are taking place on December 9-10, 2025, at Deutsche Welle’s headquarters in Bonn.

The theme of this year’s fome symposium “Beyond Dependency: Rethinking Support for Public Interest Media” invites a critical examination of traditional funding models and explores innovative approaches to strengthening media support globally. As we mark 20 years of fome, the event will spotlight initiatives with impact, that empower communities through independent and credible journalism. The symposium will explore how media developers and humanitarians can better collaborate to reinforce local information ecosystems.
