Greetings from the International Association of Religion Journalists.

We are pleased to inform you that applications are now open for the 4th
edition of the Piazza Grande Religion Journalism Award.

The award was launched by the International association of Religion
Journalist and FSCIRE <https://www.fscire.it/> within the framework of the
European Academy of Religion to honour and promote the work of
journalists covering religion and spirituality in both mainstream and
confessional media - newspapers, magazines or news websites - that publish
regularly in Europe and the countries surrounding the Mediterranean basin.

Journalists based in Europe and in the Mediterranean basin can submit their
works for the award, aimed at encouraging the journalistic coverage of
religion on the field, through work with a wide range of sources,
portraying peace and conflict, dialogue and interfaith issues, and the most
varied intersections of religion with politics, public life, culture and
the arts, society and history, at local, regional or international level.

This fourth edition of the award is open to works* published between 1st
January 2024 and 31st December 2024.*
The three stories selected by an international jury will be awarded cash
prizes *€ 1,200, € 500 and € 250* and a certificate. In this fourth
edition, IARJ and Fscire will award each winner with a *€ 500 travel
stipend *to travel to Vienna, Austria, for the presentation event, in July
2025.

Important dates:
*31 March, 2025:* Deadline for submissions
*8-12 July, 2025: *Presentation of the Award
