Liebe FOME Kolleg*innen

mein Team und ich würden uns freuen, wenn Ihr am Samstag, den 13. 
Dezember ab 16 Uhr zu einem kleinen, aber besonderen Treffen „Sudan 
trifft Süd-Sudan“ zu uns ins r0g-Büro (OPEN CULTURE OFFICE, 
Knobelsdorffstraße 22, 14059 Berlin-Charlottenburg) kommen könntet.

Wir beherbergen zwei Gäste der Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative (ESI) für 
Menschenrechtsverteidiger*innen – Onor Hamad und Khadiga Mustafa aus 
Port Sudan – zusammen mit Yine Yenki Nyika aus Juba (Süd-Sudan) einer 
Kollegin aus dem #ASKnet-Projekt. Wir besprechen die sich rasch 
wandelnden Dynamiken in den Regionen, tauschen Erfahrungen aus und 
genießen sudanesische Spezialitäten, hauptsächlich auf Englisch mit 
Übersetzung ins Arabische und Deutsche nach Bedarf.

*Save the Date … and welcome!* We’d like to invite you to a special 
‘meet ‘n greet’ event at our *OPEN CULTURE OFFICE* on *Saturday, 
December 13th*, 4pm - 8pm for

*‘Sudan meets South Sudan’*
featuring two guests r0g_agency is hosting as part of the 
Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative (ESI) for Human Rights Defenders, together 
with a key colleague from the #ASKnet project.
*Onor Hamad* and *Khadiga Mustafa* from Port Sudan will be joined by 
*Yine Yenki Nyika* from Juba, South Sudan for a look at the rapidly 
changing dynamics in their respective countries. Two lands, two 
territories, and now two states struggling to find peace, and which 
despite South Sudan’s independence in 2011 are still intertwined in 
cultural, social and political bonds - now perhaps more than ever. 
‘Sudan meets South Sudan’ is an informal yet special get-together - an 
opportunity to share experiences, discuss the status, challenges, and 
perhaps the region's future.

We look forward to welcoming you on *Saturday, December 13th at 4pm at 
the OPEN CULTURE OFFICE Knobelsdorffstraße 22, 
14059 Berlin-Charlottenburg* for this special get-together. The event 
will take place primarily in English with Arabic and German translation 
as required and featuring wonderful Sudanese treats. *Entry is free, but 
we ask you to register via info at openculture.agency in advance as space 
is limited!*

*Onor Hamad...*

...is a Sudanese journalist, human rights defender, political activist, 
and storyteller whose work bridges advocacy and narrative. Deeply 
committed to Sudan’s democratic transition, he has collaborated with 
grassroots movements, civil society organizations, and youth networks to 
promote nonviolent resistance and civic engagement. He is currently a 
resident scholar of the Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative for the Protection 
of Human Rights Defenders in Berlin, hosted by the r0g_agency for open 
culture and critical transformation.

*Khadiga Mustafa...*

...is a Sudanese feminist and anthropologist whose work focuses on 
awareness activities for women-led grassroots organisations in Eastern 
Sudan. This involves combating violent extremism and hate speech while 
developing small self-sufficient income generating activities such that 
women gain economic empowerment, connecting them with the public sphere. 
Khadiga was awarded the IGAD Fellowship for Cross-Border Cooperation 
(CBC), recognizing her leadership and commitment to regional peacebuilding.

*Yine Yenki Nyika...*

...is the co-founder of GoGirls ICT Initiative in Juba, South Sudan and 
Network Coordinator for #ASKnet, a cross-border network of thirteen 
South Sudanese media initiatives in South Sudan and refugee settlements 
in Uganda. A recognised leader in digital media inclusion efforts, she 
is the youngest person ever appointed to a national board in South 
Sudan, serving on the National Communication Authority of South-Sudan. 
Yine is also a board trustee for the University Innovation Pod (#Unipod) 
at the University of Juba, and member of several international networks 
including the Global Innovation Gathering (GIG) and the Pan-African 
Policy Taskforce.
