*Invitation: UNCOVERED conference in Berlin - Investigative Journalism 
for Europe

Dear FOME,

Democracies need journalist who uncover the news that others would 
prefer to be kept secret. We invite you to join us at the *UNCOVERED* 
*conference*, to participate in a *workshop on digital security*, to 
network with practitioners and politicians, and to learn about 
the impressive cross-border *investigations of the***IJ4EU 
<https://www.investigativejournalismforeu.net/>*grant winners.*

We will assess the challenges that investigative journalism faces in 
Europe today and the conditions – political, legal, and financial – that 
are necessary for investigative journalism to flourish. Find out why 
investigative journalism is in everyone’s interest – and how we can 
protect it in a climate where economic needs and political interference 
are the new normal.

Europe, politicians and high-level media experts such as Georg Mascolo 
(Joint Investigative Group SZ, NDR, WDR), Benedek Jávor (MEP), Matthew 
Caruana Galizia (journalist, tbc), Pavla Holcova (journalist), and many 
more.

The event takes place under the patronage of the Governing Mayor of 
Berlin, Mr Michael Müller.

The conference language is *English.* The event is *free* of charge.
