A SAFE HAVEN FOR JOURNALISTS UNDER THREAT: APPLY NOW FOR THE ECPMF'S JOURNALISTS-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAMME

The Journalists-in-Residence Programme, run by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), is designed to temporarily host journalists from across Europe who face harrassment and severe intimidations in their home country. It provides a safe place to continue ones work and -- if so desired by those hosted -- a platform to highlight threats to media freedom back home.

Here are all the key info at a glance:

Eligible countries: EU28, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey, countries of the western Balkans and the Caucasus region
Timeframe of the upcoming residency cycle: July 2017 to January 2018 (individual arrangements within this timeframe possible to a certain extent)
Command of either English or German desirable (at least on B2 level)
ECPMF provides free accomodation and a monthly grant of 1.000 EUR
Costs are being covered for visa fees (if applicable), travel to and from Leipzig, as well as for health insurance
The deadline to apply is Friday 12 May 2017
In-depth info on the programme, a downloadable FAQ sheet as well as the application form are available on ECPMF's website.
