Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the main event on the International Day for Universal Access to Information entitled "IPDCtalks<http://en.unesco.org/ipdc-talks>: Powering Sustainable Development with Access to Information<http://en.unesco.org/ipdc-talks>" will be held on 28 September.

The "IPDCtalks" will consist of a series of dynamic Talks, inspired by the TEDx Talks, delivered by global leaders from the public and civil society sector (e.g. Mr. Cobus De Swardt - former President of Transparency International, Mr. Fatih Birol - Executive Director of the International Energy Agency and Egypt's Minister of Education, Mr. Tarek Shawki), prominent journalists (e.g. Ms. Audrey Pulvar - CANAL+), intellectuals and academics to address the core issues around access to information for sustainable development and good governance.

The website of the "IPDCtalks" has been launched in English and French and will be soon available in Spanish. Registration for the "IPDCtalks" is now open: http://en.unesco.org/ipdc-talks
