Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

das Europäische Zentrum für Presse- und Medienfreiheit (ECPMF) aktiviert
anlässlich des heutigen Weltfrauentages einen Reporting Point für
Journalistinnen: https://ecpmf.eu/get-help/womens-reporting-point

Sie können dort Angriffe melden und konkrete Hilfsanfragen stellen.

Zusammen mit der Europäischen Journalistengewerkschaft (EFJ) unterstützen
wir die Kolleginnen beispielsweise mit rechtlicher Beratung.

In beiden Organisationen kümmern sich ausschließlich Mitarbeiterinnen um die
Bearbeitung der Anliegen. Diese können verschlüsselt und anonym übertragen
werden. 

Hintergrund sind die zunehmenden Angriffe gegen Journalistinnen und die
teils geschlechtsspezifische Konnotation.

Dear press freedom friends,

it's International Women's Day! Even though we should fight for gender
equality every day, ECPMF - partnering with EFJ - took this day as
opportunity to launch a Women's Reporting Point.
One of ECPMF's tasks is to monitor attacks against journalists and offer
victims advice and solidarity. Female journalists often face different kinds
of threats than their male colleagues: Attacks against them are often
gender-based and sexualised.

The new reporting point for women is a reaction to this specific kind of
violence. Encrypted messaging is provided and the messages will only be
opened and treated by female staff at the ECPMF office.
As many women do not report attacks against them, we strongly encourage them
to do so. We want to use the data collected - of course with identity
details removed - to create a database. It will serve as basis for an
analysis of violence against female media workers in Europe to raise
visibility of this problem.

So please, help us to spread the word about this ECPMF/EFJ project and share
