Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a German media development
organisation with an emphasis on supporting media in crisis regions and
transition countries. MiCT is based in Berlin, with regional offices in
Tunisia and Iraq. For more information see www.mict-international.org


MiCT seeks to fill the following position as soon as possible:



*Research position social sciences (m|f)*

*(part-time or freelance position)*



The position entails theory-based planning, implementation, and supervision
of research processes and compiling study results for academic journals and
MiCT’s own publications. The research will accompany MiCT’s capacity
building activities and will focus on media development in the Arab world.


*Tasks*

-  Design and implement qualitative/quantitative studies in the
above-mentioned regions

-  Develop conceptual and methodological frameworks for
qualitative/quantitative studies

-  Manage data gathering and analysis

-  Train and manage local research partners

-  Compile research reports


*Requirements*

-  Advanced degree in social sciences or similar field (minimum master’s
degree or equivalent, postdoctoral candidates preferred)

-  Sound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodology

-  Sound knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS, STATA or similar)

-  Willingness to travel to target countries

-  Previous publications in academic journals are an asset

-  Experience in the implementation of qualitative and quantitative studies
(preferably Middle East) is an asset

-  Academic writing skills in English are mandatory, fluency in Arabic and
/ or German is an asset
