Networks of transnational and transcultural communication: concepts in
theory, methodology and research

The program for the 2012 IIC (International and Intercultural
Communication section of the German Communication Association DGPuK)
conference is now available online. The main part of the conference will
be opened by the renowned international scholar George A. Barnett
(Davis, California) who is going to develop “A Network Model of
International/Intercultural Communication” in his keynote speech. A
second keynote presentation will be contributed by Jo L. H. Bardoel
(Amsterdam) who is going to focus on his concept of “Network
Journalism” and the changing role of media professionals in the age of
converging communication spaces.
All in all, the program for the conference “Networks of transnational
and transcultural communication: Concepts in theory, methodology and
research” consists of 14 presentations by scholars from all over the
world. The main conference is preceded by a workshop at which PhD
students can present their dissertation research in international and
intercultural communication.
