Project Description
The Berlin-based NGO MICT (Media in Cooperation and Transition) implements media development projects in Sudan and Iraq and is broadening its activities to also include Afghanistan as of July 2010.

The new project, a website on Afghan politics and economics, will be funded by the German Foreign Ministry and aims at training Afghan journalists. Reporters in Afghanistan will produce texts, videos and audios for the website and will be coached by experienced editors from Berlin on a day-to-day basis. 

Project period
July until December 2010 (with an option to be extended for two years)

Duty station
Berlin with travels to Afghanistan

Job Description
- Planning and setting thematic agendas for the production of articles
- Editing articles from Afghanistan
- Coaching Afghan journalists 
- Assisting in the development project website
- Content management

Qualifications
- Extensive work experience as editor or journalist
- Training experience including the design and delivery of workshops
- Minimum 5 years of professional work experience
- Fluent language skills in Dari and/or Pashto (written and spoken); German and English is an asset
- Fully computer literate
- Experience in use of Content Management Systems (CMS) highly desired
