Internship in the Media and Public Relations Unit, Communications Department
The Media and Public Relations Unit at Transparency International’s communications department offers an internship every three months.
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effect of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
Description of Internship
Main function: Supporting the Media and Public Relations Unit at the Communications Department
Starting date: 19 November 2008
Duration: Three months, with possibility of extension; full time Mon - Fri

Location: Berlin, Germany
Responsibilities:
General assistance to the press unit and the Communications Department
Maintain media contacts database
Daily news monitoring
Research topics relevant to the Department
Involvement in communications outreach efforts
Logistical support for international events/press conferences
Contributing to Transparency Watch, the movement’s monthly newsletter
Depending on level of skills, may involve drafting and/or light editing of selected texts
Requirements:
Strong communication and writing skills
Multitasking and good time management skills
Communications, journalism or social science related degree
Experience using the internet as a research and communications tool
Computer software skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Fluency or native English written and spoken; skills in other languages are highly desirable*
Resourceful, solutions-oriented approach
*Fluency in Spanish and/or German will be strongly preferred.
