im Rahmen der Berlinale finden zwei interessante Veranstaltungen statt,
zu denen die Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung eingeladen hat. 
Vielleicht hat ja jemand von der Liste Interesse und ist sowieso in
Berlin?

censorship 
by using a guerilla-like distribution strategy
Monique Phoba, "Sorcière, la vie" 2005, Phoba filmed during the 2006
elections 
in Congo 
Eyas Salman, in 2006 Salman and Gerd Schneider received the award of
the 
Katrin Cartlidge Foundation for their documentary "The Edge of Hope"
about the 
Israeli-Palestinian conflict
Thomas Gebauer, CEO of medico international, an organization that often

critizises short-term interventionist aid missions
Bianca Jagger, social and political activist, who has received numerous

international awards for her advocacy of human rights
Chair: Ralf Fücks, Heinrich Böll Foundation, Member of the Board

Filmmakers will discuss their personal survival strategies on how to
get by 
economically and artistically in crisis regions. Examples will be given
from 
Congo, Palestine and India. In which ways do they tell their stories,
which 
particular methods do they apply? Many movies, made by individuals with

an ambition to interfere politically, have troubles finding their
audiences, 
often as a result of not being related to already existing multiplying
networks.
What kind of support do filmmakers in troubled areas receive from Non 
Governmental Organisations? How can NGOs provide essential help for the
survival 
of a thriving film community? This panel is an attempt to look for
strategies of 
linking activist filmmaking with the networks of NGOs.

Laudatio: Dr. Jutta Limbach, Präsidentin des Goethe-Instituts

Ort: Kino Babylon Berlin, Rosa-Luxemburg-Str. 30, Berlin-Mitte
Eintritt: 4 Euro

Berlinale und Friedensfilmpreisjury, das geht zum 22. Mal zusammen. Mit

dem Friedensfilmpreis werden Filme ausgezeichnet, die ästhetische
Qualität 
mit humanem Denken, demokratischer Grundhaltung und sozialem 
Engagement verbinden. Auch zu Beginn des neuen Jahrtausends ist der 
Friedensfilmpreis von ungebrochener Aktualität: ob im Nahen Osten, Ex-
Jugoslawien, Afrika oder anderen Regionen. Frieden heißt nicht nur 
Abwesenheit von Krieg, sondern ebenso Bemühen um Konfliktlösungen. 
Dazu gehört auch eine kritische Reflexion der eigenen Gegenwart im
Kino. 

Der prämierte Film wird gezeigt. Wir hoffen, den/die Preisträgerin
begrüßen 
zu können und diskutieren nach dem Film mit ihr oder ihm, mit Ralf
Fücks 
vom Vorstand Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, mit einer VertreterIn von IPPNW 
(Internationale Ärzte für die Verhütung des Atomkrieges / Ärzte in
sozialer
Verantwortung e.V.) und der Initiative Friedensfilmpreis.

Achtung, langjährige FriedensfilmpreisbesucherInnen: Es gibt einen
neuen 
Ort, das Kino Babylon am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz!
