Eingeladen haben den Wissenschaftler mit Visionen die VHS Coesfeld und die Friedensinitiative Nottuln, die mit diesem Abend ihre Reihe „Lust auf Zukunft – 25“ fortsetzen. Dazu laden die Organisatoren alle Bürgerinnen und Bürger ein. Der Eintritt zum Vortrag beträgt 5 Euro. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Prof. Paech stellt ein Wirtschaftssystem vor und zur Diskussion, das zur Versorgung des menschlichen Bedarfs nicht auf Wirtschaftswachstum angewiesen ist. Paech zufolge bedingen Faktoren wie Ressourcenknappheit, psychische Grenzen („Überforderungssyndrom“), die Krisenanfälligkeit des Finanz-, Kapital- und Geldsystems sowie ökologische Grenzen das Ende des Wachstums.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Oder einfach erklärt: Die „Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie“ (GWÖ) ist eine Idee für eine andere Art von Wirtschaft. Anstatt nur auf Geld, Gewinn und Wachstum zu schauen, soll die Wirtschaft so funktionieren, dass sie dem Gemeinwohl dient – also dem Wohl aller Menschen und der Natur. Nico Paech: „Unendliches Wachstum ist nicht möglich, weil wir die Natur überlasten. Wir müssen auf weniger Konsum, regionale Produktion und Selber machen und teilen setzen.“ Die „Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie“ und Nico Paechs Ansatz wollen eine Wirtschaft, in der nicht Gewinn, sondern „Fairness, Nachhaltigkeit und Lebensqualität“ im Mittelpunkt stehen. Darüber hinaus zeige die sogenannte „Glücksforschung“ den Befund, dass Steigerungen des Güterwohlstandes ab einem gewissen Niveau keine weitere Zunahme des subjektiv empfundenen Wohlbefindens hervorrufen. Folglich ist es an der Zeit, die Bedingungen und Möglichkeiten einer neuen Wirtschaftsform auszuloten. Paech: „Trotz Krisen, Klimawandel und Ressourcenknappheit – es gibt Wege nach vorn!“ <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Niko Paech ist Volkswirt und lehrt und forscht an der Universität Siegen als außerplanmäßiger Professor im Bereich der Pluralen Ökonomik.
