Wolfgang Richter (Jg. 1949) war in seiner fast 42-jährigen militärischen Karriere mit Führungsverwendungen im Heer sowie bei der NATO und im Verteidigungsministerium mit Fragen der Verteidigungsplanung, der Nuklearstrategie, der Konzeption der Bundeswehr und der Rüstungskontrolle sowie ihrer Verifikation betraut. Er war Leitender Militärberater der Ständigen Vertretungen Deutschlands bei der Abrüstungskonferenz in Genf, den Abrüstungsforen der VN in New York und zuletzt bei der OSZE in Wien. Dort hat er Deutschland in der Gemeinsamen Beratungsgruppe zum KSE-Vertrag und bei Deeskalationsmissionen im Georgienkonflikt 2008 vertreten.<br>Nach seinem Ausscheiden aus dem aktiven Dienst (2010) hat er 13 Jahre als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter bei der Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) gearbeitet. Seit 2023 ist er Associate Fellow beim Genfer Zentrum für Sicherheitspolitik (GCSP). Zu seinen Themenfeldern gehören die Rolle der OSZE und der Rüstungskontrolle für die europäische Sicherheitsordnung, die Beziehungen zwischen der NATO und Russland, postsowjetische Konflikte sowie militär- und nuklearstrategische Fragen. Er hat dazu zahlreiche Publikationen verfasst, zuletzt zum Ukrainekrieg und zur beabsichtigten Stationierung von U.S. Mittelstreckenraketen in Deutschland.<o:p></o:p></p></blockquote></div></body></html>
