Eva Cohaus, Mitglied der FI, wird dazu eine Studie aus den USA vorstellen, die im Moment sehr große Beachtung findet und diskutiert wird. Cohaus: „Ziviler, gewaltfreier Widerstand ist erheblich erfolgreicher, als die meisten denken. Und deutlich erfolgreicher als gewaltsame Auseinandersetzungen oder Kriege.“ Zu diesem überraschenden Ergebnis kommt Prof. Erica Chenoweth von der Harvard Kennedy School, USA, in ihrer großangelegten Studie, die den Zeitraum von 1900 bis 2019 umspannt. Eva Cohaus wird die Grundzüge des Buches „Civil Resistance“ von Prof. Chenoweth referieren. Um diese zu verstehen, wird die Referentin dabei Grafiken, Strukturen und Bilder per Powerpoint präsentieren. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Gerade im Zusammenhang mit dem Krieg in der Ukraine – so die FI - wird immer wieder diskutiert, ob es nicht Alternativen zur militärischen Verteidigung gibt. Dass eine Verteidigung mit Militär viele Tote, Zerstörungen eines Landes und viel Leid mit sich bringt, das kann im Moment in der Ukraine beobachtet werden. Gibt es dazu wirklich keine Alternative? Eva Cohaus machte sich auf die Suche danach.
