Das Erdbeben hat eine ganze Region in eine Katastrophe gestürzt. Auch und besonders die Menschen in Nordsyrien, die 12 Jahre Krieg hinter sich haben, brauchen diese Hilfe. Die Organisation Ärzte ohne Grenzen hat dort seit Jahren ein Hilfsnetzwerk aufgebaut und kann akute und schnelle Hilfe leisten. Andere Organisationen haben es schwer, überhaupt die Grenze von der Türkei nach Syrien zu überschreiten. Soll die FI schon wieder Spenden sammeln? Wenn nicht jetzt, wann dann? Viele Bürgerinnen und Bürger haben sich in den vergangenen Jahren der FI anvertraut und viel Geld gespendet. Dieses ist jeweils passgenau überwiesen worden und konnte viel Leid lindern. Deshalb will die FI auch in diesem dramatischen Fall ein Angebot machen. Die Spenden werden sofort an die Organisation Ärzte ohne Grenzen weitergeleitet. Ein eigenes FI-Aktionsspendenkonto ist auch über die Homepage der Ärzte ohne Grenzen erreichbar. Die FI steht im direkten Kontakt mit deren Geschäftsstelle in Berlin. Von dort kamen auch die Informationen: „Bei der Nothilfe nach einem Erdbeben drängt die Zeit. Hier die wichtigsten Informationen zur aktuellen Lage vom 6.2.2023. Nach den starken Erdbeben im Süden der Türkei und im Nordwesten Syriens am 6. Februar hat Ärzte ohne Grenzen umgehend die Teams in der Region mobilisiert, um auf den großen Hilfsbedarf - vor allem in Syrien - zu reagieren. Bisher haben die Vereinten Nationen nach ersten Schätzungen in beiden Ländern mehr als 10.000 Tote bestätigt.“<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:36.0pt'><span style='color:black'>Ärzte ohne Grenzen hat – nach eigenen Angaben - sofort 23 Gesundheitseinrichtungen in den Gouvernements Idlib und Aleppo mit medizinischen Notfallsets und Personal zur Verstärkung ihrer Teams unterstützt. „Die Gesundheitseinrichtungen in der Region sind überfordert, das medizinische Personal im Nordwesten von Syrien arbeitet rund um die Uhr, um auf die große Zahl von Verwundeten zu reagieren, die in den Einrichtungen ankommen. In den ersten Stunden haben unsere Teams rund 200 Verwundete behandelt, und wir haben 160 Verletzte in unseren Einrichtungen und Kliniken aufgenommen, die wir in Nord-Idlib betreiben oder unterstützen. Auch unsere Rettungsautos sind im Einsatz, um der Bevölkerung zu helfen“, berichtet Sebastien Gay, Einsatzleiter von Ärzte ohne Grenzen in Syrien. Dabei habe schnelle Hilfe höchste Priorität. Marcus Bachmann, Humanitärer Berater, Ärzte ohne Grenzen, Österreich: “Der Faktor Zeit spielt bei Elementarereignissen wie einem Erdbeben eine große Rolle. Wir konnten in Syrien alle unsere medizinischen Teams, die bereits vor Ort waren, schon in den ersten Stunden mobilisieren. In der Akutphase ist rasches Handeln essenziell, und auch längerfristig wird es – aufgrund der Folgen - großen medizinischen Bedarf geben.”<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:36.0pt'><span style='color:black'>Viele Betroffene hätten mehrere Familienmitglieder verloren oder bangten um deren Schicksale, andere hätten schwer verletzte Angehörige. Die Ärzte vor Ort: „Unsere Erfahrung zeigt, wie wichtig psychologische Erste Hilfe ist und wie dringend diese geleistet werden muss. Als erfahrene Katastrophenhelfer wissen wir, dass auch weiterhin andere medizinische Notfälle eintreten werden. Es ist wichtig, lebensbedrohliche Gesundheitssituationen auch unter diesen schweren Bedingungen zu erkennen und zu behandeln.
