Seit dem 24. Februar findet jeden Freitag um 18:30 Uhr am Brunnen im Nottulner Ortskern ein Friedensgedenken statt. Immer wieder wird dies von einer anderen Organisation gestaltet. Am Freitag, den 17.6. liegt die Gestaltung des Friedensgedenkens in der Hand des Komitees für Städtepartnerschaft. Das Komitee hat die beiden Bürgermeister Dr. Thönnes (Nottuln) und Jacek Gursz (Chodzie¿) gebeten, eine kurze Ansprache zu halten. Beide Bürgermeister sind „Bürgermeister für den Frieden“ (Mayor for Peace). Beide Kommunen sind Mitglied im Städtebündnis mit Hiroshima und Nagasaki, das weltweit sich für die Abschaffung aller Atomwaffen engagiert. Für den Bürgermeister aus St Amand-Montrond spricht ein Ratsmitglied der Stadt. <br>Die Gemeinde Nottuln hat sich schon vor 30 Jahren dem Bündnis angeschlossen, die Stadt Chodzie¿ trat vor einem Jahr bei. Alle Bürgerinnen und Bürger sind zu diesem besonderen Gedenken eingeladen.
