Die Überbeanspruchung der natürlichen Ressourcen und der propagierte Wachstumszwang sind nicht miteinander vereinbar. Das Konzept der sozialen Marktwirtschaft wird durch die ausgeuferte Finanzindustrie, die Macht von Großkonzernen sowie die Ansätze des Monetarismus und des Neoliberalismus unterlaufen. Die Gemein-wohl-Ökonomie ist ein Wirtschaftsmodell, in dem das gute Leben für alle das oberste Ziel ist. Kern des Modells ist, dass Unternehmen und Kommunen, die nachhaltig und sozial wirtschaften, im Vorteil sind.
