Wenn am kommenden Sonntag aus der ganzen Bundesrepublik Menschen nach Büchel in die Eifel fahren, um dort mit einer Menschenkette gegen die US-Atomwaffen, die dort lagern, zu demonstrieren, dann sind auch Mitglieder der Friedensinitiative Nottuln (FI)dabei. Seit 40 Jahren engagiert sich die FI dafür, dass weltweit die Atomwaffen abgeschafft werden. Und immer wieder fordert die FI, dass die letzten 20 US-Atomwaffen aus Deutschland abgezogen werden. Mit der Menschenkette bringen die Friedensaktivisten das Thema Atomwaffen und nukleare Abrüstung in den Wahlkampf ein. Robert Hülsbusch, FI Nottuln: „Die Debatte der letzten Jahre um die Fortführung der nuklearen Teilhabe und das Inkrafttreten des Atomwaffenverbotsvertrags (AVV) bestärkt uns darin, den Druck auf die Parteien gerade jetzt im Vorfeld der Bundestagswahl zu erhöhen. Lippenbekenntnisse zum Ziel einer Welt ohne Atomwaffen gibt es in den Wahlprogrammen der Parteien zu Genüge. Jetzt braucht es konkrete Schritte, wie den Beitritt zum Atomwaffenverbot und den Abzug der Bomben aus Büchel.“ Außerdem fordern die Demonstranten, dass die Bundesrepublik Deutschland die nukleare Teilhabe beendet. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=bodytext>Die Aufstellung der Menschenkette am 5. September in Büchel beginnt um 12 Uhr. Die Menschenkette startet am Ortskern von Büchel und geht nördlich entlang des Fliegerhorsts bis zum Haupttor. Die FI ruft alle Bürgerinnen und Bürger dazu auf, sich an dieser Aktion zu beteiligen.
