Ein trauriges und dunkles Kapitel dabei wird jedoch regelmäßig vernachlässigt: Richard Wagner hat durch seine antisemitischen Schriften wohl nicht den ausschlaggebenden, aber jedoch einen wichtigen Baustein für die Nazi-Ideologie des 20. Jahrhunderts geliefert. Es ist schon bemerkenswert, dass sein Schwiegersohn dann mit einem umfassenden Werk wesentliche antisemitische Linien vorweggenommen hat, die durch die Nazi-Chefideologen wenige Jahrzehnte später nur zu gern aufgegriffen wurden. Es lässt sich leicht zeigen, dass die Schriften von Wagner und auch die von seinem Schwiegersohn Adolf Hitler bekannt waren, als er wiederum sein Buch ‚Mein Kampf‘ verfasste.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black'>Lässt sich für Richard Wagner selbst mit aller Vorsicht mit Blick auf den Zeitgeist in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts noch Verständnis aufbringen, so muss man für seine Kinder und zu einem Teil auch für seine Enkel feststellen, dass diese enthusiastische Unterstützer von Adolf Hitler gewesen sind. Und das war nicht erst ab 1933 der Fall, sondern schon zehn Jahre früher, noch vor dem Münchener Marsch auf die Feldherrnhalle. Wenn Musikfreunde das Jubiläumsjahr des großen Komponisten feiern, neigen sie zur Verharmlosung und zur Verdrängung dieser Tatsachen.“<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black'>Der Referent des Abends ist Peter Amadeus Schneider. Er wird diese dunkle, braune Seite in der Familiengeschichte Wagner darstellen.
