Nahen Ostens von einer erbitterten Auseinandersetzung zerrissen. In Israel und
Palästina stoßen auch die drei abrahamitischen Religionen aufeinander, mit
weltweiten Auswirkungen. Die Gewalt dieses Konfliktes ist in unseren Medien
präsent,<B> </B>aber von der Friedensarbeit in Israel und Palästina hören wir
wenig. Unser Ziel ist es deshalb, die Stimmen des Friedens in diesem Konflikt
kennen zu lernen. </SPAN><SPAN

style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Amerika geboren, lebt Rabbi <B>Jeremy
Milgrom</B> seit 1968 in Israel und hat sich sein ganzes Berufsleben hindurch
für Frieden für Israelis und PalästinenserInnen eingesetzt. Er ist an wichtigen
Initiativen der israelischen Friedensbewegung, wie Peace Now, Yesh Gvul und
Rabbiner für Menschenrechte,<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>beteiligt gewesen und arbeitet zur Zeit aktiv bei der Allianz für
Wiederaufbau, die Häuser und Leben in Gaza und der Westbank wieder
herstellt. Rabbi Milgrom ist ein Pionier im Bereich von interreligiösen
Partnerschaften mit christlichen und moslemischen PalästinenserInnen. Gemeinsam
mit Pfarrer Shehadeh Shehadeh hat er die Organisation Clergy for Peace –
Geistliche für den Frieden –<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>gegründet und geleitet. Mit einer weiteren Initiative hat er Freiwillige
in die Westbank gebracht, um Beduinenkinder des Jahalin-Stammes zu unterrichten,
die aus ihrer Heimat im Negev dorthin zwangsumgesiedelt wurden. Seine
inhaltlichen Schwerpunktthemen sind Judaismus, Spiritualität der Gewaltfreiheit
und andere verwandte Themen. Milgroms politische Vision heißt Partnerschaft
zwischen Israelis und Palästinensern. Er befürwortet einen binationalen Staat.
Alles was auf eine strikte Trennung der beiden Völker hinausläuft, lehnt er
ab.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
