face="Times New Roman">Nottuln „Ein deutscher Zivi in Afrika …“ <IMG alt=""

align=baseline border=0>so beginnt die Geschichte, die am Montag, den 30.5.2005
um 20 Uhr in Nottuln in der Alten Amtmannei erzählt wird. Reich bebildert. Denn
der Nottulner Eric Laurenz – so heißt der „Zivi“, der seinen „Anderen Dienst im
Ausland“ nach dem Abitur <SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic">für insgesamt
14 Monate in Ouagadougou, der staubigen Hauptstadt des kleinen Westafrikanischen
Staates Burkina Faso, machte – kommt mit Laptop und Beamer und hat jede Menge
Fotos im Gepäck. Die Friedensinitiative Nottuln, die zu diesem Abend einlädt und
die damit ihre Afrika-Reihe fortsetzt, unterstützte Laurenz bei seiner Arbeit in
Afrika finanziell. </SPAN><o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman">Für SEWA e.V. arbeitete der Nottulner Abiturient, einem
kleinen deutschen Verein, der seit einigen Jahren versucht, den Menschen in
Burkina Faso mit den Möglichkeiten der Solartechnik zu helfen. Einen Solarkocher
z.B. hat die Organisation entwickelt, mit dem sich „auf Sonne“ kochen lässt.
Laurenz: „Eine kleine Familie verdient damit ihren Lebensunterhalt. Viele andere
sparen Geld für Brennholz und schonen so nicht nur die Wälder des Landes,
sondern auch ihre Lungen und Augen.“<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman">Außerdem erhalten in <SPAN
style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic">Ouagadougou</SPAN> Schulen auf dem Land mit
Solaranlagen Licht. In vielen Fällen das einzige öffentlich zugängliche
elektrische Licht im Umkreis vieler Kilometer. Und das in einem Land in dem die
Sonne jeden Abend pünktlich um sechs unter geht, freut sich Eric Laurenz über
diese Entwicklung. <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman">Das dritte große Projekt des Vereins, für den der
Nottulner nach Afrika reiste, hieß „Solarakkupack“: Mit einem kleinen gut
verpackten Solarpanel werden intelligente Akkupacks mit sehr hoher Lebensdauer
geladen, die anschließend die Sprühgeräte der burkischen Baumwollbauern
antreiben und damit eines Tages die Millionen von billigen Quecksilberbatterien
verdrängen, die Jahr für Jahr in den Straßengräben und auf den Müllhaufen der
afrikanischen Baumwollregionen landen.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>Eric Laurenz lädt die Nottulner zu seinem Vortragsabend in der Alten
Amtmannei herzlich ein: „Was mich dann wirklich in der Hitze Ouagadougous
erwartete, was ich unterwegs auf dem Sattel meines kleinen Mofas (natürlich
französischer Bauart) erlebt habe, welche Menschen ich unterwegs getroffen habe,
davon werde ich erzählen und natürlich ein paar der vielen Fotos, die ich wieder
mit nach Deutschland genommen habe, zeigen.</FONT></P>
